Beetroot Seed Variety Description:

 

Beetroot Baby Beets - (Y) Baby Beets provide taste and satisfaction that can only be obtained from growing your own. Pull beets while young and tender to obtain the best taste.

Beetroot Cylindra - (Y) Produces long, slender roots that are ideal for slicing. Excellent colour and flavour. Good for pickling or cooked fresh. 

Beetroot Derwent Globe - (Y) A rich red, globe-shaped root. Flesh is tender and sweet. Ideal summer and winter vegetable.

Beetroot Super King(Y) This new hybrid variety of globe beet is quick to establish and quick to develop to full size.

Baby Beets:

Baby Beets provide taste and satisfaction that can only be obtained from growing your own. Pull beets while young and tender for the best flavour. Perfect for salads, entrees, and hors d’oeuvres.

Position: Full sun.

Sow: Each “seed” is a cluster of 1-4 true seeds in a corky base. Soak for 2 hours before sowing to ensure water reaches the seeds. Sowing in trays of Yates Seed Raising Mix will allow all seedlings from each cluster to be transplanted later.

Care: Transplant when 3-5cm tall into a sunny, well-drained position. Apply Yates Thrive Soluble Fertiliser occasionally and keep seedlings well watered. Sow more seeds every few weeks. Protect from snails with Yates Blitzem.
